Lower Kindergarten is generally attended by children who are around 4 to 5 years old. Lower Kindergarten focuses on developing language skills, including listening, speaking, and vocabulary acquisition. It also introduces basic numeracy concepts such as counting, number recognition, shapes, and patterns. Lower Kindergarten aims to provide a stimulating and supportive learning environment where children can develop foundational skills, confidence, and a positive attitude towards school and learning. Our program often incorporate activities to promote language and literacy skills, such as storytelling, rhyming games, vocabulary-building activities, and early writing experiences and basic numeracy concepts such as counting, sorting, matching, and recognizing shapes and patterns. These activities lay the foundation for future literacy development and language acquisition.
The recommended age for pre-nursery admission is typically between 2.5 to 3.5 years. A general admission test of child and parents is conducted, before getting enrolled the child.
Prior to child’s first day of school, parents will be invited to attend an orientation session where they can learn more about the school’s policies, procedures, and expectations for parents.
We offer a transition period, which involve shortening the duration of initial sessions or allowing parents to stay with their child until they feel comfortable.
Throughout the admission process and beyond, communication between the playgroup staff and parents is essential. We provide ongoing updates, newsletters to parents.
